We are seeking a creative, organized, and community-oriented Social Media Coordinator to manage and grow the online presence. This part-time position is responsible for creating engaging content, managing social media channels, promoting community events, and supporting public communication efforts.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with experience in social media management, content creation, and community engagement. This role requires an onsite presence to attend local events, collaborate with staff, and capture real-time content
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media content calendars across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X.
- Create engaging written, graphic, photo, and video content highlighting Village programs, events, services, and initiatives.
- Attend community events and meetings to capture photos, videos, and live content.
- Monitor social media accounts, respond to comments and messages, and escalate inquiries to appropriate departments when necessary.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience managing social media accounts for a business, nonprofit, government agency, or organization.
- Experience using content creation and scheduling tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Business Suite, or similar platforms.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong photography, videography, and content creation abilities.
- Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional demeanor and ability to represent positively in public settings.
