Production Technician
The Production Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, fitting, and mounting subassemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies used in electrical control equipment. This role performs assembly activities required for testing preparation and final inspection, while using established procedures and equipment to verify the electrical and mechanical integrity of completed units. The Production Technician is expected to meet production goals while maintaining high quality standards, workplace safety, and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Assemble panelboards, switchboards, and related electrical control equipment according to customer specifications, electrical drawings, manufacturing schematics, and work instructions.
Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
Perform electrical wiring and component installation using tools such as wire strippers, pliers, and other assembly equipment.
Inspect and test finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and applicable codes.
Verify the electrical and mechanical integrity of assembled units using established testing and power-checking procedures.
Maintain expected production progress and communicate material shortages, production delays, or quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
Receive, organize, and store materials and components as required.
Prepare completed products for shipment in accordance with established procedures.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, safety, and work processes.
Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in accordance with established housekeeping and workplace organization standards.
Cross-train in multiple production functions and support other operational areas as business needs require.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Minimum of one year of experience in an assembly-related environment using hand tools and/or power tools.
Experience in automotive repair, construction, carpentry, manufacturing, or similar hands-on assembly environments is acceptable.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical assembly processes.
Ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices safely and effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to inspect and test completed assemblies for accuracy and compliance with specifications.
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and components as required by the position.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet production expectations.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Must be willing and able to work overtime before and after scheduled shifts, as well as weekends, based on business needs.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Experience
Minimum of one year of assembly, manufacturing, construction, automotive repair, carpentry, or related hands-on technical experience.
