Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum required years of experience: 5 YOE Graphic Designer in Apparel Design, taking designs from other graphics and transferring to schematics for factories Education requirements: Bachelors or equivalent experience
Must Have Skills
Production artist and graphic design combo for cut and sew
Experience with promo and basketball Athlete wear
Portfolio: 1st Interview they will need to show up with 3-5 examples for projects they have worked on, schematics, line art for product creation, graphic design for apparel - especially in athletic wear
Nice To Have Skills
Experience working directly with athletes or has a strong interest in basketball. They will be helping with NBA, WNBA, or Kobe projects
Building schematics for screen prints, sublimitations, trims, rhinestones, line art for product creation Software/technical requirements:
Previous client/industry experience preference: Yes, Very open to external people with no experience Needs to have apparel experience Open to candidates from small companies The team plans to train this person on processes Steer clear of UX Designers - it does not translate to apparel design
Who You'll Work With
You will report directly to the Production Art Manager or Senior Manager, while working in collaboration with fellow Graphic Production Artists and Graphic Designers. Your primary cross functional partners will be Apparel Design, Graphic Design, Product Management, Technical Development and Material Development.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Production Artist to join the Apparel Graphic Production team. We are looking for a designer who loves the technical details of the graphic process as well as finding new ways of working. We are experts at putting art on both physical prototypes and digital renders. This role amplifies graphic design by delivering flawless, production-ready files. They are a trusted resource within the team, creating detailed and accurate graphic schematics, with the ability to run point for Production Art within given categories by attending meetings, identifying personal action items, and being available as the go-to graphic production resource for a greater, cross-functioning team. In addition, they will coach and lead our team into new ways of working. This candidate needs to have a creative mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, while keeping production moving forward.
What You'll Work On
If this is you, you will be working on highly visible product for both branded and licensed basketball. This is where sport, design and culture meet and where we are redefining graphics for both athletes and fans. You will work with Design to create and finalize graphic details across multiple levels of product, from on-athlete to retail. You will be inspired and challenged by a wide range of responsibilities and experiences. You will do this by leveraging 2D and 3D tools. A typical day could include Production Art meetings and alignment, high-volume schematic creation and lay-down product page creation, creating documentation for downstream partners and reviewing strike-offs. In addition to creation, you will be responsible for tracking and maintaining updates on all appropriate files for accuracy through final approval. You will learn new tools and advocate for efficiencies in the product creation life cycle.
