Responsibilities
Set up and maintain procedural content generation pipelines that meet visual and performance goals.
Develop and refine tools, workflows, and techniques for optimizing game assets, shaders, and environments in Unreal Engine or clients' proprietary engines.
Support scalability and optimization of UE5 pipelines and rendering workflows.
Create and maintain documentation for optimization processes, tools, workflows, and best practices.
Collaborate closely with the art and engineering teams to ensure that the game's visual quality is maintained while meeting performance targets of multiple platforms.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in game development or other CG industry.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Technical Artist.
Proficient in using Unreal Engine 4 or 5 or any other industry-leading game engines with a deep understanding of its art and rendering pipelines.
Solid understanding of performance optimization techniques and best practices in game development.
UE5's PCG expertise.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with artists, designers, and programmers.
Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address issues in procedural content generation processes.
Willingness to adapt to changing project requirements and able to iterate and improve procedural systems based on feedback.
Will Be a Plus:
Experience in material creation & optimization (Master Materials, Material Functions, Material Layers, Material Collection Parameters).
Environment asset pipeline knowledge (Displacement, Decimation Workflow, Modular Workflow, Texel Density, Collisions, Sculpting, UVs, Building Creations).
Experience with world building systems (Landscape, RVT, Foliage, Procedural Foliage).
Knowledge of 3D modeling, texturing, and animation software (Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Blender, Substance Package).
Expertise in developing custom tools and scripts to enhance and streamline art workflows.
Expertise in creating and optimizing shaders, materials, and visual effects for game environments.
Scripting languages (Python, VEX, MEL, MaxScript).
Experience with VFX software like Embergen or Unreal Niagara.
