About the position

We are looking for a Web & Multimedia designer to join our team. Under the direction of the Director of Digital Media & Strategy, you will be tasked primarily with providing creative and technical support and production for web-based media and digital communication materials .

 

Your duties:

  • Plan, design, build, and maintain websites using the Wix.com platform (Wix Studio, Wix Editor), including layout, navigation, responsive design, coding, and accessibility
  • Translate brand guidelines, content strategy, and content into visually compelling, accessible web experiences
  • Implement SEO best practices, site structure, and analytics, and develop analytics reports
  • Perform routine site audits, updates, and quality assurance across desktop and mobile
  • Manage Wix CMS collections and dynamic pages
  • Create engaging static and motion graphics, video, and visual assets for web and other media
  • Implement accessibility standards for web and multimedia content, including WCAG AA conformance guidelines for web content, Section 508 compliance for digital documents and video
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate health literacy content into accessible, plain-language formats, and ensure cohesive and visually appealing multimedia designs that meet project goals, objectives, and client needs
  • Manage tasks and projects within deadlines
  • Participate in client-facing meetings and present design and web concepts, as needed


Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000


Skills you will need:

  • Proficiency in Wix Studio design and development, including basic HTML/CSS, SEO, and UX
  • Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG and Section 508 compliance)
  • Creativity and graphic design fundamentals and experience using Adobe Creative Suite software and Canva.com
  • Deep creative and critical thinking skills with outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, timelines, and client requests, while maintaining focus and follow-through on longer-term projects from start to completion
  • Take initiative to identify design needs and move work forward independently, while following established processes and drawing on team expertise
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members to develop high quality health-literate web and multimedia
  • Ability to accept and apply critical feedback through an iterative collaborative process
  • Ability to learn new software and tools on the job, including project management software and multimedia development tools

 

Skills that are a plus:

·       Experience with health, public health, or nonprofit communications

·       Animated video content creation using Vyond

·       Data visualization

·       Email marketing design and evaluation

 

Education and experience

Bachelor’s Degree in communications, graphic design, computer science, web development, digital media, or related field and/or demonstrated experience building and managing websites.
