Position Summary


The Senior Advertising Executive is responsible for all senior-level planning and leadership of the digital advertising with our nonprofit and political organization clients. The Senior Advertising Executive will act as the lead relationship manager for a portfolio of clients, working within a team to deliver the advertising strategies for direct marketing fundraising programs.


Duties & Responsibilities



  • Lead day‑to‑day management and implementation of advertising strategies within client digital direct marketing fundraising programs, including search engine marketing, display ads, social media advertising, and retargeting

  • Develop paid advertising campaigns that align with clients’ goals, monitoring campaign performance to ensure optimization and top performance results

  • Develop and nurture relationships with clients, including regular communication of via email, meetings, presentations, and written reports

  • Coordinate creative services including writing/editing effective copy, providing guidance to graphic designers, and supervising production of advertising creative, and other creative associated with an advertising campaign

  • Create and review client budgets and reconcile with Accounting team

  • Evaluate digital advertising performance—reviewing reports and producing analysis that translates metrics into clear client‑facing recommendations

  • Develop up‑sell/cross‑sell strategies

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of each area of agency’s resources

  • Develop agency’s public presence by attending events, publishing white papers, speaking at workshops, and getting to know leadership at major agencies and organizations

  • Research new advertising venues, staying attuned to online advertising technology, trends, and techniques that can be applied to nonprofit development

  • Participate in new business proposals and presentations

  • Minimum years of experience required: 7

  • In the following areas: Dedicated digital paid advertising role and/or media planning within the field of advocacy, fundraising, online marketing, direct response


Required experience & knowledge



  • Demonstrated experiencing managing the full scope of digital paid advertising

  • Technology‑oriented, with ongoing understanding of how online fundraising, marketing, and advocacy technology works

  • Experience making data‑driven decisions using advertising KPIs from analytics, A/B testing and dashboards to implement recommendations to ensure ongoing optimization.

  • Understanding of advertising platforms including Facebook Business Manager, Google Analytics, and Google Ads

  • Strong understanding of Google Grant management and best practices

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Demonstrated effective use of digital tools to manage internal and external workflow and communication (including email, chat, zoom, and online workflow tool)


Additional desired experience & knowledge (but not required)



  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Ad for Social Impact Grant and LinkedIn ad grant management and best practices

  • Some experience with Luminate, Salsa, EveryAction, Engaging Networks, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar eCRM platforms

  • Experience with Project Management or Workflow tool such as ClickUp

  • Candidates hired into this role typically start between $85,000–$94,000, depending on experience, skills, and internal pay equity guidelines, with the full range extending beyond this band allowing for annual and long‑term growth within the role.
