lululemon Global Brand Identity is the studio responsible for defining and evolving how the brand looks and feels at the highest level — across every channel, market, and touchpoint. We sit at the intersection of brand strategy and craft, building the visual systems, design language, and creative standards that shape lululemon’s global presence. Our work spans identity systems, campaign art direction, OOH and brand activations, editorial, and the design principles that guide creative output worldwide.

a day in the life: what you’ll do

Art direct global brand identity expressions across campaign, OOH, retail, digital, and beyond

Translate the Creative Director’s and Senior Art Director’s creative frameworks into rigorous, consistent executions

Apply and extend sophisticated brand expression systems: color field treatments, typographic hierarchies, graphic systems, and motion language

Drive concept-to-execution on assigned workstreams, partnering with copy, digital, retail, packaging, and strategy

Spot inconsistencies across your work and the broader channel mix; flag them and propose solutions

systems & standards:

Apply the Global Brand Identity design system with rigor across markets and channels

Contribute precise visual examples to brand guidelines, our design studio’s examples are the guidelines and standard

Develop presentation materials that build alignment with cross-functional partners

Use creative performance feedback to sharpen future executions

Partner closely with the Creative Director and Senior Art Director to deliver against the brand’s creative vision

Build strong working relationships across brand marketing, campaigns, product, and regional teams

Brief and review freelancers and contractors on assigned projects; elevate their work to standard

Manage personal deliverable timelines, production schedules, and creative milestones to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. This is done in collaboration with our Creative Operations partners, but our studio requires a quality of high personal agency and responsibility.

what you’ll bring skills & approach:

A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional typographic sensibility, compositional rigor, and the ability to execute coherent visual systems, not just beautiful one-offs

Experience executing brand identity or expression systems for ambitious brands

A genuine and practiced eye for culture: fashion, art, music, design, sport, and the fluency to translate that into brand-relevant creative decisions

Strong conceptual thinking: the ability to move from brief to idea, and from idea to a system of executions

Comfort working with freelancers and external partners, with clear and constructive creative feedbackA collaborative working style, generous with ideas and equally skilled at building on others’

Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with motion, 3D, or emerging design tools is a plus

Strong presentation and communication skills: you can walk a cross-functional audience through your creative thinking and make them feel what you see

experience:

6-10 years of experience in brand identity, design, or art direction (agency, in-house, or studio)

Experience mentoring more junior creatives/designers preferred

Experience working on brands with national or global reach

A track record of executing creative at a consistently high standard across multiple channels

Experience contributing to or upholding design systems is strongly preferred

compensation and benefits package
lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from

$112,000 – $147,000 USD

annually ; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.
