Director, Performance Marketing & Digital Commerce

The Director of Performance Marketing & Digital Commerce is responsible for driving full-funnel digital growth across owned ecommerce platforms, retail marketplaces, and paid media channels. This leader oversees media execution, campaign optimization, customer acquisition, conversion performance, and digital commerce strategy while translating complex data insights into actionable business outcomes. This role owns the intersection of performance marketing, ecommerce optimization, retail media, customer journey analytics, and revenue growth across platforms, key digital commerce channels. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, commercially driven, and experienced in diagnosing business performance gaps across the consumer journey to improve conversion, efficiency, and overall digital revenue performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead enterprise-wide performance marketing strategy across paid media, ecommerce, retail media, and customer acquisition channels.
Oversee campaign execution and channel performance across search, social, display, programmatic, affiliate, retail media networks, and emerging digital platforms.
Drive ecommerce growth and conversion optimization initiatives across major retail marketplaces.
Analyze the entire consumer journey to identify customer fallout points, friction areas, and revenue leakage opportunities.
Develop performance frameworks that optimize customer acquisition cost, return on ad spend (ROAS), conversion rate, lifetime value, and overall business efficiency.
Translate complex analytics and performance data into strategic recommendations and actionable business decisions.
Partner cross-functionally with ecommerce, media, analytics, UX, CRM, merchandising, and retail teams to improve customer experience and digital conversion performance.
Lead business optimization initiatives through advanced analytics, attribution modeling, A/B testing, audience segmentation, and funnel analysis.
Establish KPI dashboards and performance reporting across media, ecommerce, and retail channels.
Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, media platforms, and commerce trends to improve digital performance and customer acquisition effectiveness.
Manage agency relationships, media investments, and strategic vendor partnerships to maximize efficiency and performance outcomes.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in performance marketing, digital commerce, ecommerce, growth marketing, or customer acquisition leadership.
Strong background managing large-scale digital media budgets and enterprise ecommerce performance initiatives.
Deep expertise in conversion rate optimization (CRO), digital analytics, attribution, and full-funnel marketing strategy.
Experience overseeing marketplace performance across direct-to-consumer ecommerce environments.
Advanced analytical capabilities with the ability to diagnose business problems through data interpretation and performance analysis.
Proven success driving measurable growth through paid media optimization, customer journey improvements, and ecommerce strategy.
Strong executive communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
Experience within consumer electronics, retail, ecommerce, or omnichannel consumer brands preferred.
Additional Information
5 day a week in office environment based in Northern New Jersey.
Daily company shuttle service available from Columbus Circle in New York City with morning and evening transportation provided.
