The Muskegon Lumberjacks are proud and dedicated members of the United States Hockey League (USHL), the nation’s only Tier I junior hockey league and leading producer of NCAA players and National Hockey League draft picks in the United States.

Job Description
We are currently looking for a highly motivated college student seeking to gain hands‑on experience in content creation, storytelling and digital/social media management. Internships can be completed for college credit or for the benefit of gaining experience. The Digital Media Intern will work with the Digital Media Manager in maintaining the online presence of the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

Term
This internship will run through the 2026-2027 USHL season starting in September and concluding in April or May, depending on playoff results. The Lumberjacks are looking for interns for the entire 2026-2027 season but fall/spring semester internships will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.

Responsibilities May Include

Assist with creating, scheduling and executing content across all Muskegon Lumberjacks social media platforms

Help develop and implement creative social media campaigns to promote games, promotions, merchandise and events

Capture real‑time game day content, including occasional photo and video responsibilities

Help organize and maintain a digital asset library

Monitor social media trends and identify opportunities for audience engagement

Write social media copy that aligns with the team’s voice and brand standards

Light social media graphic design

Assist in social posting during both homes and away games

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Working towards a Bachelor’s in Sports Media (Communications), Sports Management (Business) or equivalent area of study

Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite is ideal, but not required

A reliable form of transportation

Strong knowledge of hockey is preferred but not required

Ability to work during all Lumberjacks home and road games, including nights and weekends

Availability be in‑office 2-3 days per week, 4 hours per day (outside of game days, days/hours are flexible)

Ability to multitask and maintain strong prioritization and organizational skills in a fast‑paced environment

Extremely coachable and willing to learn every day
