Associate Director, Marketing (DTC & HCP)

- Medical Dermatology

to serve as a key leader within the U.S. Medical Dermatology Marketing organization. This position reports to the Senior Director, Marketing – Medical Dermatology and the work location is Princeton, NJ (3 days in the office per week).

This role is responsible for shaping and executing integrated

Direct-to-Consumer (DTC)/patient and Healthcare Professional (HCP)

marketing strategies for a priority alopecia areata brand. The Associate Director will lead omnichannel engagement strategy, ensuring alignment across patient and provider touchpoints to deliver a cohesive, insight-driven customer experience.

As a core member of the brand team, this individual will partner cross-functionally across Sales, Medical, Market Access, Patient Services, and Digital to drive measurable business impact. The ideal candidate combines strategic rigor, strong commercial acumen, and creative thinking, with a proven ability to translate insights into differentiated brand experiences in a highly matrixed environment.

Strategy & Brand Leadership

Lead the development and execution of integrated DTC and HCP marketing strategies aligned with brand objectives, business priorities, and growth targets.

Shape customer engagement strategy across patient and provider audiences to deliver a cohesive and differentiated brand experience.

Translate market insights, customer needs, and competitive dynamics into actionable strategies that strengthen brand positioning and drive adoption.

Drive alignment between DTC demand generation and HCP adoption to maximize brand performance.

Serve as a core commercial leader influencing brand strategy, planning, and execution.

Lead strategic planning and execution of omnichannel marketing initiatives across patient and HCP audiences.

Design and optimize end-to-end customer journeys to drive awareness, engagement, and treatment activation.

Champion innovative, data-driven approaches to enhance marketing effectiveness and customer engagement.

Lead patient marketing strategy, including disease education, branded campaigns, digital experiences, and patient resources.

Develop patient‑centric initiatives that address unmet needs, reduce barriers to treatment, and support informed decision‑making.

Partner with advocacy organizations and patient communities to incorporate the patient voice into brand strategy and execution.

Collaborate with Patient Services and Market Access to deliver a seamless, integrated patient experience.

HCP Marketing

Lead HCP marketing strategy across professional promotion, peer-to-peer engagement, field enablement, and content planning.

Provide strategic direction for initiatives that drive clinical understanding, brand awareness, and prescribing behavior.

Cross‑Functional Leadership

Partner closely with Sales, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, Digital, Market Access, Patient Services, Finance, and Analytics.

Drive strategic alignment and effective decision-making across stakeholders.

Influence within a matrixed organization to advance brand priorities and foster collaboration.

Lead external agency partners (creative, media, digital, advocacy), ensuring high-quality output and accountability.

Oversee execution of marketing initiatives with excellence, ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance standards.

Manage budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation across initiatives.

Ensure all activities adhere to MLR and compliance standards

Performance & Analytics

Establish performance frameworks and KPIs to measure DTC and HCP marketing effectiveness.

Partner with analytics teams to evaluate campaign performance and generate actionable insights.

Continuously assess market dynamics and optimize strategies to maximize business impact.

Deliver clear and concise updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

7+ years of progressive pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare marketing experience

Experience across DTC/patient and/or HCP marketing

Proven success leading integrated omnichannel marketing strategies from planning through execution

Demonstrated ability to drive business results in a matrixed commercial organization

Strong understanding of pharmaceutical promotional and regulatory environments

Experience managing agencies and cross-functional initiatives

Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and leadership skills

Dermatology, immunology, or specialty pharma experience

Experience supporting or leading product launch and/or growth brands

Strong consumer marketing acumen with ability to translate patient insights into brand strategy

Experience working with advocacy organizations or patient support programs

Compensation & Benefits
The presently‑anticipated base compensation pay range for this position is $164,500 to $201,000. Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience. In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage; life insurance; disability insurance; 401(k) savings plan; flexible spending accounts; and the employee assistance program. Employees also receive various paid time off benefits, including vacation time and sick time.
