Associate, Financial Communications
Weber Shandwick is seeking an Associate to join its Financial Communications team, part of the Weber Advisory group. The role focuses on high‑stakes financial transactions, earnings, and corporate milestones, supporting day‑to‑day account activity, transaction work, media relations, and investor relations.
What You Will Be Doing
Financial & IR Support: Support a range of financial communications and special situations, including M&A, IPOs, shareholder activism, bankruptcies, and ongoing IR activities.
Financial Media Relations: Execute frequent media outreach around financial events, pitching reporters and developing briefing materials.
AI Integration: Leverage AI‑driven tools for research, data analysis, and content workflow optimization.
Content Development: Draft press releases, media strategies, reactive statements, talking points, FAQs, memos, and other key deliverables.
Research & Landscape Intelligence: Conduct research on corporate and financial issues, producing concise executive summaries.
Account Management: Keep client programs on schedule, prepare for meetings, capture action items, and meet deadlines within budget.
New Business Support: Support the new business pipeline by researching, pitching, and cross‑selling.
Thought Leadership: Assist in creating materials that position Weber Advisory as a leader in capital markets and financial communications.
Team Effectiveness
Collaboration: Reliable, proactive team member, producing high‑quality work and collaborating with cross‑functional partners.
Culture: Contribute to an inclusive team culture and support integration of our global network.
Basic Qualifications
Up to two years of relevant professional experience in financial communications, investor relations, or related agency/corporate setting.
Direct experience or strong interest in Investor Relations; familiarity with tier‑one business and financial media relations.
BA or BS, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Communications, or similar fields.
Solid understanding of capital markets and related issues.
Strong communication skills—oral, written, analytical, persuasive.
Thrives under pressure and can handle multiple time‑sensitive projects.
Fluent in Microsoft Suite (Excel proficiency); familiarity with generative AI tools; experience with media databases (Cision, MuckRack) and financial tools (Bloomberg, S&P Cap IQ, FactSet) is a strong plus.
Salary Range
$52,000 USD – $55,000 USD (actual salary depends on market considerations, experience, and other factors).
