Social Media Content Creator

Playbook Media · New York, NY, USA ·

Job type:
Full Time

About Playbook

Playbook Media is an early-stage, venture-backed sports media company built for the way this generation actually follows sports. Fans today want more than the game: they want access, experiences, and community, and they want it directly from the athletes, personalities, and creators they already follow.

We're building one consumer brand that brings fans closer to the talent they love while giving that talent the platform to build something lasting with their audience. We work across video, audio, social, and owned platforms, and we're assembling a portfolio of creator-driven media brands along the way.

We're energized by building early. We're looking for people who thrive in ambiguity and want to help shape the foundation of a modern sports media company from the ground up.

About the Role

We're looking for a Social Media Content Creator to own Playbook's social presence and produce original content that puts us at the center of the sports and culture conversation. This is a hands-on, maker role. You'll be creating and publishing content every day, not managing a team (yet) or building decks.

The right person lives and breathes sports culture, knows what's moving on social before it breaks through, and can translate that fluency into content that resonates. You'll cover the broader sports world, not just Playbook's own talent and properties, and build a distinct point of view that makes our channels worth following. You'll also be comfortable on camera, appearing in short-form video content across Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok.

What You'll Do

Own Playbook's day-to-day social presence across Instagram, X, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and emerging platforms, including content calendar, publishing, and community engagement

Create original, sports-culture-driven content including short-form video, graphics, and text-based content rooted in what's happening across the sports world

Appear on camera for short-form video, with commentary, quick takes, reactions, and recurring series formats

Shoot social-first video in the field using iPhone as needed, including at events and shoots involving Playbook talent

Repurpose long-form content from Playbook's talent and properties into native, platform-optimized clips

Monitor real-time sports and culture moments and move quickly when the timing is right

Edit and produce short-form video independently using CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar tools

Track performance and iterate: you know what worked, why, and what to do differently next time

Who You Are

0 to 4 years of experience creating content for social platforms, ideally at a media company, sports brand, or creator-driven organization

Deeply fluent across TikTok, Instagram, X, and YouTube Shorts: You understand the native language of each platform, not just the posting mechanics

Plugged into the sports world across leagues, athletes, media, and the culture surrounding all of it

Comfortable and natural on camera; you can deliver on the first or second take

Strong instincts for what's culturally relevant and a bias toward moving fast when it is

Proficient in short-form video editing; you can produce quality content on a quick turnaround

Equally effective with planned editorial and real-time reactive content

Organized enough to manage a content calendar, autonomous enough not to need one handed to you

Bonus Points

Experience working with or adjacent to athletes, talent, or sports media

Familiarity with the creator economy and how athletes are building media businesses

Graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar

Experience using AI-assisted video tools such as CapCut AI, Descript, or OpusClip

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus eligibility for performance-based incentive compensation. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, flexible paid time off, and the opportunity to build meaningful equity in an early-stage, venture-backed company. **** ****
