Program Supervisor
is responsible for implementing the Healthy Families Program as outlined in HFA and HFAZ policies and procedures, directly supervising the Family Support Specialists and Family Resource Specialist, and reporting to the Program Director.
Essential Job Functions
Coordinate, supervise, and participate in all activities of the Healthy Families program utilizing and adhering to BPS, HFAZ P&P, and SSP&P.
Monitor and complete enrollment, outreach, and capacity expectations and reporting.
Provide support to staff and participate in daily activities essential to program objectives, including family assessment, home-based family support, referral and coordination, case plan development, and documentation of services.
Provide strength-based, reflective supervision to staff on a weekly basis according to contract requirements.
Monitor fingerprint cards, background checks, performance plans, and training requirements.
Attend monthly scheduled supervision with the director.
Adhere to spending as outlined in the budget.
Model group norms and established behavioral expectations.
Maintain chain of command and follow established site-specific program implementation protocols.
Participate in agency and funder CQI projects as assigned.
Review monthly data reports, convey needs to staff, and monitor for compliance.
Provide public speaking and presentations as assigned.
Evaluate program areas and service needs regularly according to agency, funding, and quality assurance standards.
Evaluate staff performance regularly, giving feedback at least quarterly and formal evaluations annually.
Meet regularly with the staff team to coordinate activities, address issues, and review program goals and objectives.
Ensure necessary data is collected and provided to program evaluators and the Program Director in a timely manner.
Attend and actively participate in the collaborative supervisor team meetings, supporting all collaborative efforts.
Ensure Healthy Families statewide accreditation is maintained.
Coordinate program activities with hospital, Child Protective Services, community-based agencies, and the public.
Attend and participate in all required Healthy Families seminars and service trainings.
Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
High School Diploma plus two years’ experience working with at‑risk families, and one year supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to mentor, supervise, and support staff in person or virtually.
Knowledge of family life skills and child abuse prevention techniques.
Flexibility in scheduling (able to work limited nights and weekends).
Ability to work effectively within a team.
Professionalism, team approach, and equality.
Knowledge of community resources and existing community prevention efforts.
Effective oral and written communication, following agency AI use policy.
Demonstrated effective problem‑solving skills.
Grant writing abilities preferred.
Adherence to agency policies & procedures.
Meeting department performance/productivity standards.
Eligibility and ability to obtain a fingerprint card.
Certification in CPR/First Aid.
Valid driver’s license, insurance, and vehicle.
Ability Requirements
Sitting for extended periods of time daily; standing and walking short distances.
Moderate twisting, bending, stooping and lifting up to 40 pounds in the performance of assigned duties.
Ability to use a variety of office equipment and machines as referenced.
Normal manual dexterity and eye‑hand coordination required.
Repeated hand‑wrist movement required.
Nature of Position
Fast‑paced environment with multitasking of many different duties and tasks. General daily priorities may change at a moment’s notice, and the position requires quick response time and flexibility.
