Union positions are set in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU Local 521. Each position has six steps (Step 1 to Step 6). Clinician I: Step 1 $42.07/hr, Step 6 $46.45/hr. Clinician II: Step 1 $54.30/hr, Step 6 $59.96/hr.
Shift differentials: 6.25% extra pay for overnight (11 PM–7 AM) shift; 4.75% extra pay for evening (5:30 PM–10:59 PM) shift; 4.75% extra pay for weekend (12:01 AM Saturday–11:59 PM Sunday) shift.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership in comprehensive assessments, case conferences, treatment plans, and strategic interventions to ensure quality service delivery.
Serve as lead member of the treatment team and participate in crisis intervention, provide clinical supervision and direct services, within scope of practice.
Consult and coordinate with the work team to ensure service delivery (assessment, crisis intervention, treatment, discharge planning, communication) meets the needs of clients, families, and payors.
Provide clinical leadership, training, and guidance to staff, interns, and volunteers within scope of practice and agency standards.
Offer consultation and backup for other staff responding to client crisis.
Develop, review, evaluate, and sign documentation, including those requiring LPHA signature.
Provide treatment services, training, and support to clients individually and in groups; coordinate services for clients’ families.
Interview clients and representatives; complete strengths assessments and needs analyses.
Develop goal‑oriented, time‑limited comprehensive plans in cooperation with clients and/or representatives.
Facilitate and/or lead groups through rehabilitation counseling that develops life, coping, and independent‑living skills.
Assist clients in understanding problems and resolving them.
Maintain communication with families and third parties; coordinate needed services.
Make referrals to public and private social services and community agencies.
Develop recommendations for discharge and follow‑up treatment planning.
Complete comprehensive reassessments prior to expiration of current treatment plans.
Maintain accurate clinical records and produce clear reports per agency and regulatory requirements.
Provide assessment and intervention in client crisis, including necessary follow up.
Assist Program Manager in maintaining compliance with CARF, contract, agency, and regulatory requirements.
Provide transportation in personal or agency vehicle when required.
Provide on‑call coverage and participate in after‑hours rotation as assigned.
Perform First Aid in emergency situations if assigned to residential facilities.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Attend and participate in staff, program, agency and community meetings and training as required.
Meet continuing education requirements to satisfy regulatory, accreditation, and agency standards.
Participate in management of team and program discretionary resources.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities Required
Master’s degree in the mental health profession and at least one year of experience in human services settings. (Essential)
Eligibility for waiver and registration from BBS or BOP upon or soon after hire. (Essential)
First Aid Certification (or completion within 30 days of hire) if assigned to residential facilities. (Essential)
Meet government or regulatory standards for continuing education credits and recertification, including a minimum of 20 hours of professionally related training if assigned to a residential facility. (Essential)
Typing speed of 30 net wpm (essential); 40 wpm (desired). Computer literacy; familiarity with MS Office and Windows‑based databases; Unix‑based database familiarity (desired).

Must obtain a criminal records clearance as required by Title XXII, licensing regulations, and Momentum practices.
A valid California driver’s license, reliable vehicle, proof of auto liability insurance, and clean DMV record required for employees working at La Selva Residential (Essential); preferred for La Selva Outpatient programs.
