Job Summary
The Production Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, fitting, and mounting electrical control equipment, including panelboards and switchboards, according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions. This role supports manufacturing operations through assembly, inspection, testing, material handling, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards. Candidates with assembly, mechanical, construction, automotive repair, or related hands-on experience are encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities
Assemble panelboards, switchboards, and related electrical control equipment according to customer specifications, manufacturing drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
Wire, fit, and mount subassemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies using hand and power tools.
Perform assembly operations required for testing, final inspection, and shipment preparation.
Inspect and test finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and applicable codes.
Use wire strippers, pliers, and other hand tools to perform electrical wiring and assembly tasks.
Verify electrical and mechanical integrity of assembled units using established testing procedures and equipment.
Maintain production schedules and communicate material shortages, quality concerns, or operational issues to supervisors.
Receive, store, move, and organize materials to support manufacturing operations.
Prepare completed products for shipment.
Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in accordance with established 5S and safety guidelines.
Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Cross-train across multiple production functions to support operational needs.
Follow all manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Attend and actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and safety programs.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Minimum of one year of experience in assembly, manufacturing, construction, mechanical, automotive repair, carpentry, or a related hands-on technical environment.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to read and follow manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and assembly documentation.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and business needs.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly.
Ability to work overtime as required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Education
High school diploma or GED preferred.

Work Experience
Minimum of one year of assembly or related hands-on technical experience required.
Experience in manufacturing, construction, automotive repair, mechanical assembly, carpentry, or similar environments preferred.
Experience reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings preferred.
Experience using measuring tools and performing hardware assembly preferred.
Experience working with torque specifications and tolerance requirements preferred.
Experience operating manufacturing equipment such as drill presses, press brakes, forklifts, jib cranes, templates, fixtures, and related tools preferred.
CNC bus fabrication or press brake experience preferred.
