KCNC/TV is looking for an aggressive and creative Reporter. If your passion is serving your community through great journalism, then we are the newsroom for you. Ideal candidate must love breaking news and in-depth story telling. Responsibilities include reporting scripted and unscripted with clarity, accuracy, and confidence; covering breaking news with a sense of urgency; conducting compelling in person interviews; collaborating effectively with a wide range of personnel to create compelling content; developing and executing enterprise content on a consistent basis; maintaining a steadfast commitment to accuracy and fairness; writing clearly and interestingly and using video and graphics to illustrate facts and ideas in the story; shooting, writing, and editing packages for daily newscasts; strong live shot skills a must; generating story ideas and participating in editorial meetings; producing content for social media and streaming service; appearing at public and station events, as required; and establishing and maintaining relationships/sources in the community.
Qualifications include three years' experience on air, preferably in a top 20 market; the ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to solve problems quickly; very strong social media skills and the ability to contribute on all platforms; and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays & on call shifts.
Educational requirements include a college degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Hiring salary range: $56.25/hour.
