Job Description
This role will be engaged specifically on a strategic and large cross-functional initiative as our client is implementing new core systems and processes that support HR, Payroll, and Time Management, which will roll out in phases over the next 1-2 years. Workday will be the foundational system supporting this initiative. To deliver this program, our client is building a large cross-functional program team needing roles and resources with a wide variety of distinct skills: process, integrations, systems, data, project management, change, communications, and training. This team will work in partnership with Workday’s quality assurance team and a consulting partner to design and deliver the full solution.

Job Summary
Our client's Communications + Creative team is looking for a Communications Strategist to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work within a Cross Functional Program structure aligned to deliver Workday, a Payroll Transformation, and a change to our Time Management capabilities. You will support both the internal program team communication needs in addition to the overarching global program change management communication needs.

We’ll need you to be motivated to engage with global stakeholders and the program team, agile in response to changes and needs of various stakeholders, and analytical in identifying risks, opportunities, and dependencies. The ideal candidate has strategic verbal and written communication skills that consider cultural differences when collaborating with various global stakeholders. Finally, you’ll have experience with developing and deploying communications in a corporate setting in support of change initiatives and projects as well as raising communications risk and issues within a project setting.

Primary Job Responsibilities

In collaboration with the program director and change management workstream lead, develop a program communications strategy, complete with stakeholder analysis, and engage program staff in its implementation

Consult with the client's Internal Communications team to assure that all communications fall within client's guidelines

Lead the strategic development and implementation of all project communications activities to address project needs

Create an enabling environment for the development of abstracts, presentations, emails, and articles that will enable the program to present its progress, plans, accomplishments, and learnings in a broader context to client's associates globally

Support the program team by ensuring program team communications are delivering the right level of information to, and soliciting feedback from, various stakeholders on a regular cadence

Promote and facilitate active participation of all project staff in generating, creating, designing, editing and finalizing project communications materials, and work to create a “climate of communication” within the project

Ensure proper messaging and use of channels for all project materials

Foster and demonstrate a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation and exceeding expectations

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

Required Skills

Degree in communications, marketing, or related field

At least 5-8 years’ project management experience in large, complex global business transformation programs

Minimum four (4) years of experience working in globally focused programs

Proven writing and editing skills with an ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, direct and lively style; experience with graphic design software preferred

Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relationships

Proven success working in global team environment with program and technical staff on a global project

Comfortable and experienced with change management practices

Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity

Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills are required
