We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Total Rewards to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of our global compensation, benefits, recognition, and rewards programs. This leader will play a critical role in attracting, retaining, and motivating top talent while ensuring our programs remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with business objectives.
Position Summary
The Director of Total Rewards will serve as the organization's subject matter expert for compensation, benefits, executive compensation, equity programs, rewards strategy, and people analytics. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership, Finance, Legal, and People Business Partners to develop programs that support a high-growth, performance-driven culture.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational excellence and has experience building and scaling Total Rewards programs within fast-paced technology organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Total Rewards Strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive Total Rewards strategy aligned with company growth objectives.
Lead the design and administration of compensation, benefits, equity, recognition, and wellness programs.
Ensure Total Rewards programs support talent acquisition, employee engagement, retention, and performance objectives.
Continuously evaluate market trends and emerging practices to maintain a competitive rewards philosophy.
Compensation
Lead global compensation strategy including job architecture, salary structures, pay ranges, benchmarking, incentive plans, and annual compensation cycles.
Partner with executive leadership on executive compensation programs and Board-level compensation analysis.
Manage merit, bonus, promotion, and equity review processes.
Conduct market analyses and provide recommendations regarding pay competitiveness and internal equity.
Lead pay transparency, pay equity, and compensation governance initiatives.
Benefits & Wellbeing
Oversee global health, welfare, retirement, wellness, and leave programs.
Manage vendor relationships, renewals, plan design, and cost containment strategies.
Evaluate and enhance employee wellbeing initiatives to support workforce engagement and productivity.
Equity & Executive Compensation
Partner with Finance, Legal, and executive leadership on equity program administration.
Support executive compensation planning and Board Compensation Committee materials.
Develop long-term incentive strategies aligned with company performance and growth objectives.
Analytics & Compliance
Utilize data and analytics to assess program effectiveness and inform strategic decisions.
Monitor compliance with federal, state, and international regulations.
Ensure adherence to pay transparency laws, compensation governance requirements, and evolving regulatory standards.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Total Rewards team.
Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership.
Present recommendations and insights to senior executives and Board stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field.
10+ years of progressive Total Rewards experience.
5+ years leading Compensation and Benefits functions in a technology or high-growth environment.
Deep expertise in compensation strategy, executive compensation, benefits, and equity programs.
Experience supporting organizations with 1,000+ employees across multiple geographies.
Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data interpretation capabilities.
Experience presenting to executive leadership and Board-level stakeholders.
Preferred
Experience within SaaS, AI, software, fintech, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, or other high-growth technology sectors.
Global Total Rewards leadership experience.
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), or related certifications.
Experience with Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar HRIS platforms.
IPO, public company, or private equity-backed company experience.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $220,000 – $300,000+
Annual Bonus: 20% – 40%
