Who We Are Looking For
VML is seeking a Senior Art Director for our New York office, dedicated to supporting the Ford business across brand, product, digital, and 360 campaign work. You are a big‑idea generator—a highly conceptual thinker and visual storyteller who can translate strategic insights into world‑class creative. You thrive inside a large, fast‑moving automotive account and help evolve how Ford shows up creatively across all channels.

What You’ll Do

Big idea thinking: Contribute to conceptually strong, insight‑driven ideas that translate across channels and bring them to life through compelling visual storytelling.

Create: Develop and execute high‑quality visual concepts across all platforms, delivering exceptional art direction with a strong eye for craft, consistency, and brand integrity.

Collaborate: Partner with Copywriters and ACDs to develop integrated campaigns, working cross‑functionally to execute ideas and mentor junior creatives.

Client Facing: Present work clearly and confidently, building trust internally and with Ford partners through strong creative thinking and execution.

Who You Are

A Maker: Passionate about craft and execution—you bring ideas to life with precision and creativity.

Collaborative: Thrive in team environments and bring a positive, solutions‑oriented mindset. Open to feedback and able to build on others’ ideas to make the work stronger.

Ambitious: Continuously looking to push the work further—visually, conceptually, and strategically. Eager to grow and take on increasing creative responsibility.

Ego‑less: Focused on the work above all else; willing to jump in wherever needed to get the best outcome.

What You’ll Need

Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a creative advertising agency.

A portfolio showcasing strong conceptual thinking and exceptional visual execution across integrated campaigns (broadcast, digital, social, etc.).

Expertise in art direction, design, production, photography, and motion/video.

Strong understanding of creative development from brief through final execution.

Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment with tight timelines.

Strong attention to detail and a high standard for craft.

Automotive experience a plus.

Salary range: $60,000—$140,000 USD. We offer a competitive benefits package; for more details, see WPP Benefits. The role requires a hybrid approach, with teams in the office an average of four days a week. If you require accommodations or flexibility, please discuss this with the hiring team during the interview process.

WPP (VML) is an equal‑opportunity employer and considers applicants for all positions without discrimination or regard to characteristics. We are committed to fostering a culture of respect in which everyone feels they belong and has the same opportunities to progress in their careers.
