Create and schedule content across social platforms, develop editorial calendars, and maintain a consistent, mission-aligned voice and visual style.

Monitor platforms and conversations to identify engagement opportunities.

Stay current on EROS Center and science project developments to pitch fresh ideas.

Translate complex topics into accessible, compelling content.

Report on performance (reach, engagement, click‑throughs) and provide insights to optimize content.

Adapt writing styles across technical, journalistic, and creative formats to meet audience expectations.

Collaborate closely with the supervisor and teammates to identify priorities and content needs.

Ensure compliance with plain‑language best practices and USGS digital standards.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: BS in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing.

Experience: 3 years relevant experience.

Three years of continuous residency in the U.S. for issuance of a Government Security credential.

Ability to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation for facility access.

Knowledge of Earth sciences and familiarity with Landsat or remote sensing is a plus.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media tools; experience with analytics is preferred.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
