Position Summary
We are partnered with a San Diego-based life sciences startup developing next-generation diagnostic technologies. They are well-funded, growing, and advancing their platform toward commercialization. This is a high-impact, highly visible role at an entrepreneurial company where your contributions will directly influence the direction of the business. Title is flexible depending on experience.

Responsibilities

Own the product roadmap, aligning development priorities with customer needs, clinical requirements, and business objectives

Serve as the voice of the customer — engaging with clinical labs, researchers, and key opinion leaders to gather insights and translate them into product requirements

Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, engineering, regulatory, and commercial teams to drive products from development through launch

Define and track key product metrics, monitor the competitive landscape, and identify market opportunities to inform strategic decisions

Support regulatory submissions and quality system activities as they relate to product definition and documentation

Develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, and launch plans in partnership with commercial and marketing stakeholders

Manage product lifecycle from concept through commercialization, including risk identification and mitigation

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) preferred

3+ years of product management experience in diagnostics, IVD, genomics, or a related life sciences field

Experience in a regulated environment with familiarity in FDA, CE Mark, or IVD regulatory frameworks

Proven ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear product requirements and commercial value propositions

Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in a fast-moving, early-stage environment

Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
