The Role
You are an experienced media relations professional, the go‑to person for clients, and you are beginning to work on account strategy while flawlessly executing a FAM or Media Mission. In this role you deliver high‑impact stories, support Account Leads, and eventually help manage the team and lead in‑person client interactions.

Duties and Responsibilities
Account + Client Management

Day‑to‑day client contact and proactive client needs management

Lead portions of client calls and handle smaller accounts with senior oversight

Assist with strategy, planning, implementation, and evaluation of PR activities

Creative brainstorming and pitch development

Build relationships with destinations, CVBs, and tourism offices in relevant markets

Media and Influencer Relations

Maintain a wide network of media contacts to secure top‑tier national press and features

Execute proactive media relations: pitching, organizing media/influencer visits, and approving media lists

Research newspapers, magazines, broadcasts, blogs, and digital outlets for new angles and contributors

Prioritize pitches, assign tasks, and oversee progress with team support

Coordinate in‑person media meetings with journalists on location

Secure and host media and influencers on press trips, appointments, and events

Team Leadership

Oversee the workflow of junior team members

Develop 90‑day and annual plans to impact client goals and KPIs

Lead the junior team through projects to meet goals and KPIs

Industry / J/PR

Secure meetings with relevant brands that support client objectives

Engage with professional organizations outside the office for networking opportunities

Attend conferences, workshops, and events on behalf of the agency for continued learning

Other

Experience

College Degree or comparable experience required

4–6 years of public relations experience in travel, hospitality, tourism, culinary restaurant, or consumer lifestyle sectors

Stellar hotel, restaurant, and media references

Strong proven relationships with local, regional, and national media contacts

Requirements

Ability to travel for client needs

Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on Windows

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills; hospitality experience is a plus

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Ability to identify and resolve problems promptly

Strong knowledge of media and news cycles

Ability to thrive in a deadline‑driven environment

Strong understanding of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

Strong understanding of influencer relations and engagement

Polished and professional demeanor

Valid passport for international travel
