Minimum Qualifications

Effective communication skills

Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction

Ability to handle stressful situations

Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position

Must be 18 or older

Desired Qualifications

Management experience

Retail experience

High school diploma or equivalent

Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing

Adhere to all local, state and federal health and civil codes

Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and store

Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions and make suggestions

Understand the store layout and locate products

Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming and special in-store promotions

Maintain EAS to company standard

Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads

Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note discrepancies

Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process

Observe scheduled shift operating hours

Demonstrate creative merchandising

Condition all products in assigned sections according to policy

Understand and perform cashier functions

Ensure that merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, safety, food safety, associate and customer engagement rules are followed

Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions

Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs

Notify management of customer or employee accidents

Report safety risks or issues, and illegal activity

Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
