Redwood Credit Union is seeking a Communications & PR Coordinator to coordinate and support the Credit Union’s communications and public relations efforts and provide administrative support to the team.
Responsibilities
Monitors, analyzes, and reports on press and media articles mentioning Redwood Credit Union and its entities.
Coordinates design, production, and delivery of quarterly Member youth newsletters.
Provides proofreading, editing, and writing support for communications.
Supports video production, including creating or sourcing video content, slideshows, and maintaining a database of video files.
Supports annual membership meeting, grand openings, and other Member events.
Provides inputs and updates for department budget spreadsheets and monitors/reporting budget expenditures.
Coordinates and executes Member mailings (operational emails and letters, required notices, etc.) and prepares written drafts for review and approval.
Facilitates internal communication efforts such as fact sheets, collateral updates, PR photo shoots, and other content as needed.
Drafts website content, Member communications, public relations materials, and other written assignments.
Acts as main point of contact for department invoice process, schedules Communications & PR team events, drafts and distributes meeting agendas and minutes, and coordinates mailings.
Collaborates with vendors, organizations, and team members to enhance RCU’s community impact and brand visibility.
Fields inbound media requests and distributes press releases as needed.
Assigns incoming Communications and PR work tickets to team members.
Maintains and updates department RCUnet page, Reddipedia, and other reference sites.
Maintains and develops the Redwood Group’s brands, ensuring appropriate voice and style usage of logos and other representations both internally and externally.
Assists Communications and PR Manager and/or department SVP with administrative duties, planning, calendaring, and travel arrangements.
Provides excellent service to Members, Officials, management, staff, vendors, and community contacts.
Performs quality control of materials, including proofreading.
Qualifications
Exceptional interpersonal and service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and ability to exercise good judgment.
Strong communication skills—written and verbal; excellent command of the English language including grammar and punctuation.
Strong event‑planning and execution abilities.
Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, video software, and online tools such as Canva.
Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and basic photography, graphics, video, and post‑production elements.
Analytical, critical‑thinking skills with the ability to recommend solutions.
Project‑management experience in developing and executing project plans, events, and communications.
Team‑player attitude and ability to contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
Associate degree and a minimum of two years of job‑related experience. Credit‑union or financial‑institution experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel to offsite locations as needed.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist, and turn.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
Work environment is indoors; majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.

Compensation
Base hourly rate: $27.00–$35.00, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
