About the Work Unit
The Course Development and Instructional Technology unit provides leadership and supervision on the implementation and continuous improvement of online/blended courses. The members provide the VUSN instructors with the assistance and resources needed to design, develop, and deliver high quality online instructional materials grounded in good course design principles and our understanding of how people learn. We also offer guidance to educators on the use, exploration, and experimentation of instructional technologies that promote curricular innovation in online learning.
Tal design strategies, developing content using course management applications, developing interactive instructional elements, and creating audio, video and multimedia features of online/hybrid courses.
Key Functions and Expected Performance
Video Production and Technical Execution
Direct video shoots and supervise all pre- and post-production of programs/presentations reflecting university standards
Install, maintain and operate lighting, sound and video equipment for recordings and live sessions
Edit recorded content to create a high quality polished final product
Troubleshoot and resolve technical and production related issues throughout the video production process
Project Planning, Collaboration and Strategy
Collaborate with all of the VUSN community to develop video concepts and ensure presenter readiness
Consult with faculty and subject matter experts to define learning objectives, create delivery methods and determine timelines
Develop production schedules and coordinate resource allocation access projects
Monitor emerging audio/visual trends and recommend tools to support innovation and quality standards
Supervisory Relationships
This position does not have supervisory responsibility; this position reports to the Manager, Media Production.
Education and Certifications
Associate degree in digital media or related field is required.
Experience supporting end-to-end production and exposure to academic or instructional environments is preferred.
