Job Summary
Assistant Professor of Digital Animation – full‑time, tenure‑track, nine‑month contracted position with a preferred start date of August 2026. The position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia, within the School of Art and Design.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in the BFA in Digital Animation program and graduate courses in the MA in Art and Design, using both traditional and digital illustration techniques.
- Further develop the curriculum within Illustration and Sequential Art.
- Mentor undergraduate students.
- Actively engage in creative endeavors and/or scholarly activities.
- Participate in usual departmental activities, course development, and serve on departmental and university committees as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- MFA degree, or foreign equivalent, in Animation or Illustration, or a terminal degree, or foreign equivalent, in a related discipline.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suites and software related to 2D and/or 3D Digital Animation.
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in 2D and/or 3D animation production, interactivity, design, and technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry experience and an established record of professional achievement.
- Teaching experience beyond graduate school.
- Online teaching experience.
- Familiarity with industry software such as Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Harmony, including Toon‑Boom and Storyboard Pro.
- Expertise in a secondary area of specialization – such as motion graphics, illustration, sequential art.
