Senior Broadcast Design Engineer (IT Systems) supports the Project Manager and Technical Officer with the organization and logistical coordination of all aspects of the CDC Engineering Services. The primary responsibility is to provide engineering services and support to facilitate the design, installation, maintenance, and modification of broadcast grade, high definition television (HDTV) IT‑based equipment and systems. Other duties may be assigned by Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment troubleshooting and configurations as required.
  • Provide technical support for special projects and events.
  • Mentor, train, and motivate technical personnel.
  • Review and improve products and interfaces; develop systems documentation compliant with CDC, HHS, and federal security guidance.
  • Document systems, test results, and interface testing; make recommendations for technical solutions based on business needs.
  • Manage and maintain computer systems; plan, organize, develop, manage, and document activities.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual reports to OADC.
  • Troubleshoot problems identified by users and communicate solutions to the OADC team.
  • Recommend, develop, and provide end‑user training for applications and databases.
  • Perform periodic quality‑control checks of CDC websites, reports, and databases.
  • Develop and implement procedures for quality checks, including deliverables and corrective actions.
  • Assist in alternative approaches to meet client/customer demands while staying within property guidelines.
  • Provide logistical support on‑site as needed.
  • Prepare and analyze reports; collaborate in quality assurance programs.
  • Demonstrate team‑building and leadership skills; create a courteous and professional work environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment, and property.
  • Excellent client service skills and ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of project needs.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills; positive representative of the company to employees and clients.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Autodesk AutoCAD, Project, editing and SAN maintenance software.

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the broadcast, post‑production, and NLE industries.

Physical Demands

Work is primarily performed in an office environment; duties include sitting, handling tools, operating computers, standing on ladders, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling, lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Minimally required to avoid electrical shock risk. Compensation

The estimated pay range for this role is $97,000 to $120,000, contingent on location, skill set, and experience.
