ANNOUNCEMENT OF PROFESIONAL VACANCY
POSITION: General Music, Band & Choir Teacher
LOCATION: Lewis County High School
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid WV Teaching Certification in Music 9-12
Experience and knowledge of fundamentals of a high school marching band
Experience and knowledge of wind & percussion instruction playing techniques exclusive to marching band
Knowledge of marching band auxiliary units including flag, majorette corps and color guard
Experience in conducting grade level IV, V & VI concert band music
Knowledge of playing techniques for instruments traditionally used in high school concert band
Knowledge of voice & proper singing techniques for performance choir
Work cooperatively with Robert Bland Middle School Music program, staff and administration at LCHS
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and oversee LCHS summer band camp
March band in local, regional and state events
Prepare, organize & oversee pep band for winter sport activities and graduation
Prepare, organize & oversee band performances at football games
Work to recruit & audition students for performance choir
Plan, organize & oversee performances for choir, included but not limited to dates, venues, travel...
Schedule events with school administration
Be available for after-school rehearsals and performances
Publicize events and communicate with all parties
SALARY: Commensurate with Certification and Experience
TERM: 220 Days
