Position Summary
This position reports to the Creative Director and contributes to the visual identity for the Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) division. The role works closely with other Creative Design Specialists and the DAR Communications department to provide graphic design for clients and units within DAR across web, social media, print, and promotional materials.
Responsibilities
Develop and deliver high‑quality design solutions for units within the division, working collaboratively with the creative director, communications coordinators, digital strategists, and content writers.
Contribute to design strategy for publications, websites, and social media.
Manage visual identity and use of trademarked university assets, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
Lead production for print and branded merchandise projects, including vendor selection, specifications, estimations, proofing, and press checks.
Maintain project timelines and communicate progress to stakeholders; meet deadlines and adjust as needed.
Participate in DARCOMM staff meetings and cross‑functional brainstorming sessions to develop creative solutions.
Coordinate with external vendors, printers, and packaging manufacturers to ensure quality.
Provide feedback and guidance to a student design assistant when assigned.
Support the development and execution of marketing and communication strategies within the division.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
At least 2 years of full‑time professional experience in graphic design.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong and diverse portfolio showcasing proficiency in branding, print design, digital design, typography, and text hierarchy.
Demonstrated experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
Experience working with print vendors and brand guidelines.
Experience collaborating with clients and teams across multiple communication mediums.
