Courier Student Newspaper Editor, SC2COURRESACT (SU26)
Student Worker Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for the Fall or Spring semester, or 1 credit hour for the Summer semester. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above; if a first semester student, the GPA requirement is waived. If a student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as a staff member for the Courier Student Newspaper and Courier online publication, ensuring the newspaper is published on time, within budget, and adheres to high journalistic standards of accuracy.
Responsible for the editorial quality of the Courier Student Newspaper in all aspects, including accuracy, reporting, writing, photography, design, and website.
Ensure that newspaper deadlines are met.
Maintain high ethical and journalistic standards, abiding by state, college, and student press laws.
Participate in weekly staff meetings.
Maintain effective and appropriate communication with other editors and advisors.
Represent the Courier Student Newspaper, Student Life, and the College of DuPage in a professional manner at all times.
Volunteer for Student Life events as available.
Attend Student Life Living Leadership workshops as available.
Always recruit new students to the Courier Student Newspaper.
Qualifications:
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for the Fall or Spring semester or 1 credit hour for the Summer semester.

Working Conditions:
Being an editor of the Courier Student Newspaper requires a significant commitment of time and energy to be successful.
Editors must continually work to improve their journalistic skills and possess effective time management and communication skills.
Editors must be willing to work as part of a team and be open to learning new things.
Pre-employment testing is not required for this student position.
Pay Rate:
Student Rate 1 - $15.00 per hour
