Position Information
This position is located in the Cobb County PARKS Department, Mable House Barnes Amphitheater. The purpose of this classification is to provide technical and logistical support for the use of audio and visual, lighting, and theatrical equipment at the Amphitheater, Anderson Theater, arts centers, and for other County facilities and events. This position is part-time and must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Functions
Provides technical support for the use of audio and visual, lighting, and theatrical equipment at County theaters, art centers, and other facilities: designs audio/visual staging and lighting schemes; selects proper equipment and accessories for use during various productions, concerts and other activities; conducts sound and lighting checks; and operates equipment.
Provides logistical support for the use of audio and visual, lighting, and theatrical equipment at County theaters, art centers, and other facilities: coordinates equipment needs with promoters, performers, directors, etc.; leads load ins and load outs for concerts, events, and performance; prepares sets for shows; prepares and tests equipment for transport to events; and provides training on equipment use and operation as needed.
Performs preventative maintenance and minor repair work on audio-visual equipment: diagnoses malfunctioning equipment; determines parts and labor required for repair;
Prepares and submits purchase requisitions; and coordinates major repairs with vendors.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in audio and visual technology; supplemented by three years of experience in audio and visual technology, theater or related field.
Licenses and Certifications
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Physical Abilities
Tasks require the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and prolonged standing, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
