Position Summary and Scope
This position is primarily responsible for running a laser/ink jet machine, labeling and packaging products while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Specific Responsibilities
Run a laser, laser/ink jet, or E.I.D. marking station to mark livestock identification tags according to SOPs.
Label and package product as per procedures.
Understand and comply with Company procedures regarding Health, Safety and Environment.
Ensure all production line workstations operate efficiently and on schedule with the desired quality.
Maintain correct and adequate packaging materials.
Train new employees in a buddy system for tasks at all levels below the laser operator qualification.
Accurately record downtime.
Achieve the required daily output as determined by the job and machine.
Follow established conduct, procedures, and safety rules for the area.
Monitor for operational malfunctions; take prompt action, including shutting down the workstation temporarily if needed, to protect tag quality.
If the workstation is shut down, secure assistance to correct the malfunction and resume operation as quickly as possible.
Use equipment properly and report any malfunctions to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Maintain housekeeping in the assigned area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience and Skills
Experience operating a computer, including mouse use, file handling, and learning new basic computer skills.
Proficiency in basic math skills such as counting, handling numbers, addition, and subtraction.
Good manual dexterity.
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow SOPs and instructions.
