Job Overview
The AVP, Data Product role will serve as the bridge between various stakeholders across the organization and Enterprise Data teams. This role is responsible for understanding data needs, defining and managing data products, and ensuring high‑quality, trusted, and accessible data that drives decision‑making. The AVP, Data Product will work cross‑functionally with Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Data Quality to ensure data is accurate, well‑governed, and aligned with business needs. The role will also support transitional data projects as the organization shifts to a modern data platform.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders (Finance, Credit, Operations, Marketing, Payments, etc.) and Enterprise Data teams to understand business requirements.
Define, prioritize, and maintain the data product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Champion data as a product by ensuring it is well‑structured, governed, easily consumable, and reusable.
Drive adoption and usage of data assets by improving accessibility, usability, and trust.
Identify and bridge gaps in existing data pipelines, models, and reporting frameworks that are implemented or under development.
Work with business stakeholders and Enterprise Data teams to stabilize and optimize legacy data systems while transitioning to new platforms.
Partner with business stakeholders to provide interim data solutions until data products reach maturity.
Work closely with Data Engineering to ensure timely and scalable data delivery solutions.
Partner with Data Governance and Data Quality to enforce data definitions, lineage, and controls.
Define and track KPIs for data products, ensuring they meet business expectations for quality, availability, and performance.
Support teams in leveraging data for analytics, automation, and compliance reporting needs.
Ensure data products adhere to data governance, security, and compliance requirements.
Define and drive data quality standards, including anomaly detection, reconciliation, and issue resolution.
Advocate for metadata management and data lineage tracking to improve data transparency and reliability.
Translate business requirements into actionable data solutions.
Educate various business teams on best practices for data access, governance, and self‑service analytics.
Communicate progress, priorities, and insights to stakeholders and Enterprise Data leadership.
Follow policies and procedures, perform the position safely, and comply with occupational safety and health standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
5‑7+ years of experience in data product management, data governance, or data analytics roles, preferably within finance or banking.
Strong understanding of banking data needs (Credit, FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Digital Banking, regulatory reporting).
Experience working with data engineering, governance, and quality teams to develop and manage data products.
Hands‑on experience with data platforms, warehouses (e.g., Snowflake) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
Strong knowledge of data modeling, data lineage, metadata management, and data governance frameworks.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
Experience with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, or Core Banking platforms preferred.
Familiarity with cloud‑based data platforms (e.g., Azure, Snowflake) preferred.
Experience with SQL, Python, or other data querying languages preferred.
Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., CECL, Basel, IFRS, SOX, GAAP, PCI, Fair Lending) preferred.

Salary
The base salary will be determined based on education, industry experience, training, and skills, and aligned with market data.
