Digital Content Creator – WROC/RochesterFirst

WROC/RochesterFirst is hiring a Digital Content Creator to join our award‑winning team. The role involves working in the newsroom writing, aggregating, and publishing news stories, videos, and multimedia elements to our station’s digital platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
Writing, editing, and publishing news stories, videos, and multimedia content.
Aggregating content from various sources and ensuring timely release.
Creating engaging stories, videos, and imagery tailored to specific social media platforms.
Collecting information through research, interviews, and event coverage.
Managing content via web content management systems.
Maintaining brand voice and adherence to AP style in all content.
Performing copy‑editing and quality control across all digital platforms.
Qualifications

Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and knowledge of AP style.
Knowledge of online news journalism and best practices.
Basic photography, videography, and editing for digital delivery.
Proficiency in web content management systems.
Advanced proficiency with Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Flexibility with working any and all shifts, including nights and weekends.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism and newsroom experience preferred.
Basic graphic design experience with Photoshop or Adobe Express preferred.
Compensation: $16.50–$17.50 per hour, commensurate with experience and skill level.
