Job Summary

Oversee, manage and implement external integrated communications plans and projects, including social media, media relations, and overall public relations. Lead social media efforts, including overall organic social strategy with proven practices, ongoing best practices research, social media ambassador program coordination and content development. Oversee and serve as expert on social media management and listening tools. Serve as earned media expert and develop, implement and counsel around earned media strategies as part of integrated communications plans. Across all efforts, make strategic recommendations and ensure superior delivery of communication programs and tactics. As an active member of the corporate communications team, identify opportunities and tools to enhance Medline's external presence and reputation and integrate with internal communications as appropriate.
Responsibilities

Lead integrated planning efforts with products, sales and marketing to help drive greater collaboration and deeper storytelling to elevate Medline capabilities and expertise.
Oversee and strategize around organic social media, including overall social approach/strategy, using proven practices, competitor and best practice research, content development and editorial calendar planning. Also manage the social media ambassador program.
Serve as earned media subject matter expert, developing and implementing media relations plans and efforts, leveraging relationships with key trade and top‑tier media outlets.
Arm spokespeople with key messages and prepare them with message and media training.
Produce and/or oversee the conceptualization, design and implementation of communication materials including social media content, press releases, infographics and newsroom postings.
Contribute to Medline’s broader content and editorial calendar of the company’s PR efforts.
Ensure high quality and strategic work from self and others, overseeing projects and programs as required.
Supervise work of outside PR agencies and freelancers as needed; ensure ongoing quality of work, business alignment and that budget is met.
Advise enterprise, senior sales and division leaders on ongoing PR and communications needs.
Manage the resources and output of the external communications team (PR team), including annual PR budget management and proposing budgets for ongoing needs.
Leadership Responsibilities

Typically manage through multiple managers and/or supervisors.
Oversee major projects, programs and outcomes.
Budget responsibility for the department or projects.
Interpret and execute policies for the department, develop, recommend and implement new policies or modifications.
Provide general guidelines and parameters for staff functioning.
Hire staff, recommend pay increases, perform performance reviews, provide training and development, estimate personnel needs, assign work and meet completion dates.
Interpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies.
Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field.
Work Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the communications field, including developing communication materials directed to B2B audiences; experience in social media strategy with LinkedIn; experience in earned media relations, publishing media materials, pitching reporters, prepping spokespeople and coordinating interviews; managing content creation and workflow for corporate communications programs; at least 2 years of experience managing people and/or projects.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Communications planning and implementation experience; ability to integrate and coordinate multiple elements into an actionable plan; experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities, and critical deadlines; intermediate skill in Microsoft PowerPoint; intermediate skill in Microsoft Word; intermediate skill in AI tools used by the company.
Salary and Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is $116,000.00 – $174,000.00 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold. Our benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off and additional benefits for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average. For employees working less than 30 hours per week, benefits include 401(k) contributions, paid time off and access to the Employee Assistance Program, Employee Resource Groups and the Employee Service Corp.
