Overview As an AI Communications Specialist on the Lockheed Martin AI Center (LAIC)'s AI Factory Growth team, you will shape how Lockheed Martin understands, talks about, and adopts AI—using AI itself to do it. You will own content for the internal LAIC website, help build and maintain the team's communications standards and workflows, and bring a strong communications voice to everything from training materials to brand identity.
Key Responsibilities Own and maintain the internal LAIC website—content architecture, editorial calendar, visual design, and updates that reflect the evolving AI ecosystem across LM.
Develop, document, and help maintain communications workflows, best practices, and standards for the AI Factory Growth team.
Write and edit high-quality copy for web, presentations, training materials, and internal campaigns—translating technical AI concepts for diverse audiences from executives to engineers.
Brand & Visual Identity Create and maintain brand standards for LAIC, AI Factory, and training sub-brands—identifiers, color palettes, tone of voice, templates.
Design or direct design of visual assets (slide decks, infographics, web graphics) that are consistent, professional, and aligned with LM corporate standards.
Support brand consistency: ensure communications from the team reflect a coherent, strategic identity.
AI Integration & Workflow Automation Implement AI-powered workflows for communications tasks—content generation, editing assistance, summarization, translation, visual asset creation.
Model AI use within the team; provide lightweight training and troubleshooting to help others adopt AI tools in their daily work.
Stay current on AI capabilities relevant to communications and bring new tools or techniques to the team proactively.
Strategic Guidance & Cross-Functional Partnership Provide communications counsel to engineers, data scientists, program managers, and trainers—helping them frame their work for clarity and impact.
Partner with leadership to align communications priorities with strategic initiatives.
Participate in campaign planning, product launches, and org-wide initiatives where communications expertise is needed.
Training Delivery (As Needed) Teach AI literacy or AI-for-communications classes when training bandwidth requires it—bringing practitioner credibility and hands-on examples to the classroom.
Develop curriculum or case studies based on real LAIC communications work.
Basic Qualifications 3+ years of professional experience in communications, content strategy, digital marketing, technical writing, or related field.
Demonstrated ability to write clear, compelling copy for multiple audiences and formats (web, presentations, long‑form documents).
Experience managing websites, digital content platforms, or content management systems (CMS).
Track record contributing to workflows, standards, or style guides within a team or organization.
Hands‑on fluency with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Runway, or similar) applied to real communications work—not just awareness, but integration into daily practice.
Strong design sensibility and proficiency with design or presentation tools (Figma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, or equivalent).
Desired Skills Experience creating or managing brand identity systems (style guides, templates, visual standards).
Background in technical or engineering communications—ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical audiences.
Teaching, training, or instructional design experience.
Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated industries familiar with clearance and operational security requirements.
Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or iterative content development practices.
Knowledge of web analytics, SEO, or user experience (UX) principles.
Graphic design or video editing skills.

Salary Range The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 – $150,765. In California, Massachusetts, and New York metropolitan areas, the range is $98,300 – $170,315.
