About this position
About Smarty

Smarty is a self‑funded, profitable, and growing SaaS company recognized by the Salt Lake Tribune as one of Utah's Top Workplaces four years running. We help businesses solve hard problems with location intelligence, including address validation, geocoding, and address enrichment, and we’re looking for a Sales Manager to help our sales team do the same for our customers.

This role reports to the VP of Sales and sits at the center of how we grow and serve the customers who rely on Smarty every day.

What You’ll Do

Become a genuine subject matter expert on Smarty’s SaaS offerings, deep enough to help your team navigate complex customer conversations and identify expansion opportunities

Lead and develop a team of account executives focused on new business and existing account growth

Partner with your team to build territory and account strategies that drive toward revenue goals

Run weekly one‑on‑ones and pipeline reviews with each team member, keeping deals moving and reps developing

Review active deals for strategic alignment and coach reps through execution; not just oversight, but genuine partnership in the work

Oversee training and cross‑training to build both the breadth and depth your team needs to perform confidently across Smarty’s product suite

Collaborate with Customer Success, Product, and Marketing to ensure your team has the context, tools, and alignment needed to serve customers well

Contribute to hiring decisions for the team, including interviews, candidate evaluation, and getting new reps up to speed quickly

Deliver accurate weekly and monthly sales reports to the VP of Sales and present in regular business reviews with company leadership

Own the annual performance review process for each of your direct reports, including goal‑setting, ongoing feedback, and documentation

Provide consistent, honest forecasting to leadership

Who You Are

3+ years in a SaaS sales role with a track record of hitting or exceeding quota

Some experience leading or mentoring others, whether formally or informally; this role is open to a first‑time manager who is ready for the step, or someone who has led a team before

A coach at heart; you get energy from helping others improve, not just from closing deals yourself

Strong communicator who can run a tight pipeline review, deliver candid feedback, and present clearly to senior leadership

Comfortable with data and forecasting; you build your projections from the ground up and stand behind them

Experience building territories and assigning quotas

Curious about the product and the customer problems it solves; not content to stay at surface level

Low‑ego, high‑accountability; you fit a culture where people own their work, help each other, and take the mission seriously

Proficient with CRM tools, preferably Salesforce

Bonus Points

Experience in location intelligence, data services, or adjacent SaaS verticals

Familiarity with account expansion and upsell motions

What We’ll Do for You

Competitive compensation (DOE)

100% paid health, dental, and basic life insurance premiums (including family coverage)

Long‑term disability insurance

Generous PTO that increases with tenure

401(k) with company matching

Ongoing training and professional development

Adjustable standing desk and modern tools

Drinks, snacks, team lunches, and activities

In‑office chiropractic services

Company retreats and trips to genuinely fun places

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and we require all candidates (that receive and accept employment offers) to complete a background check.

All of your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
