Join Johnson Controls as a CAD & PLM Documentation Specialist, where you’ll play a critical role in shaping how our engineering teams design, collaborate, and deliver world-class solutions. In this role, you will drive the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of PTC Creo and Windchill documentation, best practices, and workflows—ensuring excellence in engineering design quality and consistency. You’ll create structured, AI-ready documentation and validation frameworks that empower engineers to confidently verify compliance with requirements and accelerate streamlined product release processes. Location: This is an onsite position based at our Advanced Development and Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA. How you will do it

Develop and document CAD best practices for Creo (parts, assemblies, drawings)

Standardize modeling approaches, templates, and design guidelines

Create clear documentation for PLM workflows (Windchill), including lifecycle, revisions, and release processes

Define and document engineering change processes (ECR/ECN)

Build checklists, validation criteria, and documentation frameworks to ensure design quality and compliance

Align documentation with BOM structures and PLM data requirements

Partner with engineering, quality, and PLM teams to drive consistency and adoption

Develop training materials, examples, and user guides

Continuously improve documentation based on feedback and evolving tools

What you will need Required

US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Experience working with PTC Creo (3D modeling and drawings)

Experience with Windchill or similar PLM system

Strong understanding of engineering design documentation and processes

Ability to translate technical workflows into clear, structured documentation

Preferred

Experience developing engineering or CAD standards

Familiarity with change management processes (ECR/ECN)

Exposure to documentation frameworks, validation, or rule-based systems

Manufacturing or product design environment experience

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $120,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
