Job Description
Role Summary
The Senior Director, Commercialization & Go‑To‑Market is a senior individual contributor responsible for defining and driving the financial institution commercialization strategy for the Payment Networks portfolio with a focus on domestic debit networks. This role serves as the foremost market expert and relationship owner with banks, credit unions, and fintech issuers—shaping how our products are positioned, adopted, and scaled across the issuing landscape.

Operating within a highly matrixed organization, this leader partners closely with Sales, Product, and Commercial Leadership to enable issuer growth, expand issuance, and support increased transaction volume tied to our domestic debit networks.

Key Responsibilities
Issuer Commercialization & GTM Strategy

Define and own the issuer‑side go‑to‑market strategy for domestic debit products

Shape issuer‑focused value propositions highlighting debit issuance, loyalty enablement, and Smart Basket, in concert with the broad suite of FIS products

Develop commercial positioning, adoption frameworks, and use cases that support scalable issuer participation growth

Market Expertise & Relationship Leadership

Act as FIS’s foremost market expert on prepaid debit, alternative debit classifications, and issuer‑level financial services constructs

Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with banks, credit unions, and fintech issuers

Serve as a trusted advisor and relationship opener, establishing executive credibility and access for broader commercial teams

Sales Enablement & Deal Support

Partner with Sales in early‑stage issuer conversations to frame product strategy within broader debit, prepaid, and loyalty initiatives

Provide guidance and subject matter expertise on commercial structure, issuer economics, and ecosystem alignment without serving as a quota‑carrying role

Product & Market Feedback Loop

Translate issuer feedback, regulatory considerations, and market dynamics into actionable input for Product Management

Influence roadmap priorities by aligning issuer demand with business focus and growth objectives

Ensure capabilities are clearly defined, commercially viable, and positioned for issuer adoption

Cross‑Functional Leadership

Operate effectively in a matrixed environment across Product, Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Finance

Help establish best practices for issuer commercialization, market education, and ecosystem engagement

Contribute to a cohesive, aligned commercial strategy across the Payment Networks Portfolio

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of experience in network payments, prepaid, debit, issuer services, or financial services commercialization

Deep understanding of debit issuance and issuer economics

Proven experience engaging banks, credit unions, and fintech issuers at a senior level

Strong market credibility with the ability to operate as a trusted expert and strategic partner

Experience enabling and supporting sales organizations within a matrixed, enterprise environment, influencing GTM strategy, commercialization models, and issuer adoption

Executive‑level communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial services concepts into clear commercial value
