Position Overview

Responsible for the production aspects of social media visuals; audio‑visual media; event production collateral; print collateral; and digital assets to communicate services and campaigns related to health care and public health. This role reviews and approves visual content and visual brand representation for USC Student Health and USC Campus Health under the direction of the Senior Manager, Public Communications and Outreach.
Essential Duties

Produce audio/visual storytelling through social media channels including Instagram and Spotify (podcasts).
Provide guidance to student workers producing audio/visual content and supervise the quality of their work for publishing.
Oversee design and copy layouts for select publications, such as magazines and newsletters.
Design and proof artwork, display materials, and copy layouts.
Utilize computer software packages to manipulate images, text, etc.
Oversee design and copy layouts for marketing collateral such as brochures, certificates, posters, and flyers.
Coordinate with outside agencies, art services, printers, and other partners to complete projects.
Work with internal and external clients to advise, create, modify, and execute design standards and solutions to visual media objectives and requirements.
Maintain technical knowledge by attending design workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in graphic design, visual communication or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a graphic design role.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Advanced knowledge of print design, including font management, inks and file preparation for print.
Knowledge of creating files for digital use, including web colors and formats.
Skilled in page layout using InDesign.
Experience working with identity assets such as logos.
Thorough knowledge of the printing process and good web practices for graphics.
Self‑starter who is productive and organized.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, visual communication or a related field.
Knowledge of HTML, WordPress, and designing e‑blasts or digital publications.
Licenses & Certifications

Fire Life Safety Training (Los Angeles City). If not held upon hire, must be obtained within 30 days of hire and renewed before expiration.
Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $68,640.00 – $112,370.00.
