Job Description

NBC4 in Washington, DC is looking for a Platform Manager (Newscast Producer) for newscasts.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall editorial content on one or more platforms produced by WRC

Serve as one of the primary line producers of the assigned daily newscast

Work with content producers to select the most compelling and relevant stories

Work with the production team to ensure smooth and seamless productions

Work with the executive producer and assignment editor to ensure the most complete local news coverage

Work with the digital team to incorporate social/digital/streaming content into the newscast

Produce content that can cross platforms for our digital, streaming and OTT apps, and our sister station, Telemundo 44

Play an active role in the editorial process

Write, produce, edit video, and gather content for all platforms

Effectively manage a pool of content producers, coaching and mentoring as needed

Ensure fairness, accuracy, and balance in reporting, upholding the standards of NBC4

Compensation
Salary range:

$90,000 - $105,000 per year

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience producing a daily newscast

Minimum 3 years of experience writing, producing and desktop editing

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or equivalent work experience

Eligibility Requirements

Must be willing to work in Washington D.C.

Must be 18 years or greater

Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Must be available to work overnights, mornings and holidays

Position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal‑designated worksite

Desired Qualifications

Strong journalistic skills, experience in newsgathering and/or production

Strong writing and video editing skills

Strong leadership skills; ability to step into leadership role when EP is off

Knowledge and understanding of various media platforms, including broadcast, streaming, mobile, and social media

Experience as a producer in a major market for television, web‑based news service, or mid‑sized market EP

Ability to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines

Spanish language skills a plus
