Job Summary

WBNG-TV in Binghamton, NY, is looking for a versatile player to join our multi-platform newsroom and award‑winning team as a news anchor. We want someone who can do it all and relishes being a leader.
Responsibilities

Anchor primetime newscasts: deliver the day's most important news with authority, empathy, and a conventional style that connects with our audience
Host Around The Tiers: bring high energy and fun to our lifestyle program, interviewing local newsmakers, business owners, and community leaders, and contributing some producing skills to the show as well
Connect with the community: represent WBNG at local events and appearances to help showcase what the Southern Tier has to offer
Lead in the newsroom: we're looking for a multi‑talented journalist who can serve as a mentor for our team, helping to shape editorial direction and maintain high standards for every story and show
Own the digital space: craft engaging social media and digital content that drives viewers to our platforms
Qualifications

Solid news judgment, strong writing skills, and a proven ability to effectively communicate as a newscast anchor with the personality to host a lifestyle show
A digital-first mindset that proves you understand that the news doesn’t stop when the cameras turn off; you’re active on social media and comfortable creating for streaming
At least two years of experience anchoring and connecting with your audience preferred
Familiarity with newsroom systems (like ENPS) and basic video editing is a big plus
A driver's license and a good driving record are required
