The University of California, Riverside (UCR) is seeking a strategic, creative, and collaborative leader to serve as the Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Communications & Marketing Officer (AVC/CCMO). As a key member of the Chancellor’s leadership team, the AVC/CCMO will be responsible for developing and directing communications and marketing strategies for the University, advancing the Chancellor’s goal of elevating UCR’s brand and reputation on both national and international levels, and ensuring consistent and collaborative messaging across campus.

  • Develop and direct comprehensive communication and marketing strategies that align with UCR’s strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with communications staff and partners across departments to implement integrated initiatives.
  • Create and execute a strategic roadmap to achieve branding, visibility, and reputation goals.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to university-wide communications and marketing teams for consistency and collaboration.
  • Work closely with the Chancellor, Associate Chancellor, and other campus executives to align messaging and storytelling.
  • Consult and advise campus leaders to ensure consistent engagement with diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, alumni, donors, local leaders, and prospective students.
