Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Quantitative Science, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 13 years of experience working in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
- 13 years of experience in statistical problem solving and analyzing data sets using SQL or comparable coding language (e.g., Python, R, Java, C++).
- 5 years of experience managing a team.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science).
- Experience influencing senior leadership on analytical decision making.
- Experience in data analysis, with the ability to solve problems in complex, fast‑moving, and ambiguous business environments through excellent data intuition and business acumen.
- Experience ideating and designing end‑to‑end consumer‑focused surveys and mixed‑method research, with a proven ability to report results and strategic insights to senior leadership.
- Ability to effectively communicate analysis and recommendations across a wide range of non‑technical audiences.

The team shapes priorities to accelerate growth and resource the business accordingly, enhancing skills and capabilities to support execution of business priorities, driving efficiency across business operations, and building excellent infrastructure and tooling. This team combines strategic, operational, and problem‑solving skills with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done and drive change across a global organization.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $230,000 - $321,000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Lead high‑stakes consumer research and mixed‑method studies (conjoint, surveys, focus groups) to define YouTube’s content acquisition, product prioritization, and business generation strategies.
- Build robust financial models and conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate business outcomes and mitigate risks for new initiatives.
- Analyze complex data sets to identify actionable trends, translating raw qualitative and quantitative insights into clear, data‑driven business opportunities.
- Deliver strategic recommendations and thought leadership to VP‑ and Director‑level stakeholders across YouTube Music, Media, Product, and Engineering verticals.
- Manage and mentor a team of analysts and researchers, driving execution excellence and upholding rigorous quality standards across all projects.
