As the SCHEELS Sunglasses & Fan Shop Manager, you’ll be more than just a sales associate- you’ll be the face of SCHEELS to our customers - a product expert, creating a memorable and inspiring shopping environment where customers come for both style advice and high-quality products. You’ll also be tasked with running your own shops which includes ordering new products, executing eye-catching displays and taking pride in your department.

What You’ll Do:

Be the Expert: Share your knowledge of SCHEELS products to guide customers in finding the perfect items for their adventures.

Manage Your Section: Curate your department with top-quality products and execute displays that entice customers to stop and look!

Lead and Inspire: Train, mentor and work alongside your team to ensure everyone delivers exceptional service and shares your passion for our products.

Customer Experience: Build relationships with customers, helping them find the gear and giving the expertise they need.

What you Need to Succeed:

Compensation & Schedule:

Base Salary: $47-55,000+/year (includes commissions and incentives), depending on experience and skills.

Average Hours: 41 hours/week. A typical schedule includes two opening shifts (9 AM - 5 PM), two closing shifts (12 PM - 9 PM), a consistent weekday off and alternating weekends.

Training: New product training monthly on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings from 5:00-6:30 PM to stay on top of the latest gear and trends. Individualized business training with your mentor each week to learn SCHEELS systems and run your shop at the highest level.

Responsibilities:

Meet or exceed personal sales goals while giving Scheels customers a great experience

Be knowledgeable to answer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise

Follow instructions for specific requests from customers, while maintaining safety requirements

Analyze reports and make decisions about purchasing of inventory, arrangement of merchandise, and sales trends to meet or exceed Scheels standards

Stock shelves, tables, and counters with merchandise while merchandising to Scheels standards. Set up advertising, signs, and merchandise to promote sales

Communicate professionally with vendors and/or outside sales representatives

Train associates on the proper use and basic knowledge of merchandise

Prepare for and facilitate required product knowledge and sales meetings as directed

Attend weekly required sales and product knowledge training meetingsBe professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels’ policies and procedures

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Ability to perform basic math; perform operations using units of currency, measurements and understanding percentages

Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one or small groups to customers, clients and other employees

Ability to work assigned schedule; may include varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays

Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and be able to clearly explain all benefits

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, or general education degree (GED), 1‑3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
