Faherty is entering a defining new chapter. The brand is evolving from its coastal roots into the Men’s Advanced Contemporary space—an elevated, European‑influenced aesthetic defined by world‑class materials, refined construction, and a relaxed‑but‑tailored fit philosophy, all grounded in the coastal spirit at the heart of the brand. The Director, Men’s Design is responsible for leading the creative direction and execution of the Men’s product across all categories. This role translates seasonal creative vision into a cohesive, elevated, and commercially viable assortment, while championing the brand’s evolution in fabrication, tailoring, and proportion and leading a high‑performing design team.

Reporting to the VP, Men’s Creative Director, this role serves as the key partner in bringing brand vision to life through product, ensuring alignment across Design, Merchandising and Marketing.

What You’ll Do

Lead the end‑to‑end creative direction of Men’s product across all categories

Translate seasonal concept and brand direction into clear product strategy and design POV

Drive innovation in silhouette, proportion, fabrication, and details‑first design thinking

Ensure a consistent and elevated design point of view across the assortment

Refine and elevate product through structured design reviews and critique

Translate feedback from leadership into actionable design direction

Lead, mentor, and develop the Men’s design team across categories

Set creative standards and expectations for design output and execution

Guide designers in translating concept into differentiated, high‑quality product

Build internal capability and foster growth across the team

Manage the design calendar and oversee the team’s day‑to‑day priorities to ensure all design milestones are met

Design Process & Organizational Development

Partner with Design Operations to build and maintain a structured, milestone‑driven design process

Drive efficiency and clarity across development cycles

Strengthen concept‑to‑product translation throughout the design process

Embed a details‑first approach to design and product development

Support a 360° approach to assortment building, ensuring cohesive product stories

Merchandising & Cross‑Functional Partnership

Partner closely with Merchandising to ensure assortments align with financial targets and IMU goals

Support development of product that meets both DTC and Wholesale needs and ensure critical milestones and deliverables are met

Collaborate on assortment architecture, key franchises, and growth opportunities

Align design direction with commercial viability while maintaining brand integrity

Partner cross‑functionally with Product Development, Production and Marketing

Key Looks & Brand Expression

Define seasonal Key Looks that connect concept to product and storytelling

Ensure alignment between product, campaign and brand expression

Partner with Marketing on campaign and e‑commerce styling direction

Participate in on‑set creative direction for key moments as needed

What You’ll Have

8+ years of experience in Men’s design, with leadership experience

Strong understanding of both creative design and commercial product strategy

Proven ability to lead and develop design teams

Experience building and evolving design processes within a growing organization

Strong knowledge of materials, construction and product development

Ability to balance creative vision with business and financial objectives

We aim to pay competitively for our size and industry. The base salary range for this position is $180,000 - $190,000 USD, but we will consider location, skill level and experience to determine the final offer.
