Job Summary
Responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Advertising Sales Business Development team and related personnel in other functional areas in the areas of business development, sales strategy, functional strategy and operational procedures. Oversees operations to ensure overall sales volumes increase through business development. Creates ad sales business development goals and strategies. Performs budgeting tasks. Works in conjunction with other sales and business development management personnel to coordinate efforts in maximizing both regional and national sales.
Core Responsibilities
Ensures overall ad sales volume increase through business development activity, identifying new opportunities in the market and converting them into actionable department strategies.
Develops Ad Sales Business Development goals and objectives, ensuring goals and objectives are met through monitoring department and individual work performance.
Performs budgeting responsibilities that may include developing the budget and monitoring department spending.
Provides product and technical expertise to assist teams and personnel in developing strategies to increase ad sales volume.
Consults with management and clients on an as‑needed basis to develop advertising packages to fit a clients' needs and challenges.
Keeps abreast of current television and cable programming and their respective ratings performance.
Monitors the market as well competitors' new or changing product and service offerings.
Provides access to training and development programs, classes and conferences.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new advertising sales opportunities through market research, networking, and cold calling with government agencies, political and advocacy advertisers.
Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations tailored to client needs.
Mid‑sale and post‑sale reporting and check‑ins with advertisers/agencies.
Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of advertising campaigns.
Partner with political sales team to ensure alignment and information sharing.
Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
Track and report on sales performance and client feedback through available CRM and feedback tools.
Engagement with government affairs partners.
Sell advertising solutions across multiple platforms.
Utilize knowledge of programmatic, managed service advertising and data-driven sales strategies to help clients meet their KPI's.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (preferred; applicants with some combination of coursework and experience or extensive related professional experience will be considered).
10+ years of relevant work experience.
Compensation
Primary Location Pay Range: $183,835.77 - $275,753.65. Targeted Commission: $150,000.00. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
