About the Opportunity Bridge to Calculus (BtC), launched in 1994, is a summer enrichment program offered by the Department of Mathematics. It serves Boston Public High School students entering their junior or senior year who plan to take AP or regular Calculus. The program reflects the diversity of Boston’s inner-city schools, with students of African-American, Hispanic, and Southeast Asian descent and children of new immigrants. The Media and Marketing Assistant will support the BtC program by managing its digital presence, creating engaging content, and ensuring consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Document Program Processes and Activities: Capture and organize BtC program processes, events, and activities for use in reports, presentations, and public-facing materials.
Create Digital and Print Marketing Materials: Design flyers, videos, graphics, newsletters, and other promotional materials to support program visibility and outreach.
Manage and Grow Social Media Presence: Develop and schedule content, track engagement, and implement social media strategies to strengthen the program’s online presence.
Provide Guidance to Team Members on Media/Marketing Tasks: Offer support, best practices, and informal training to colleagues contributing to marketing initiatives.
Serve as Liaison to the COS Communications Team: Coordinate with the College of Science (COS) Communications Team to ensure brand alignment, share updates, and support collaborative projects.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
Experience with social media platforms and content creation tools.
Familiarity with website design tools and COS branding standards is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Interest in education, community outreach, or STEM programs is a plus.

Compensation Grade/Pay Type: 106H. Expected Hiring Range: $23.37 - $32.14. With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, including education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills, as well as a pay comparison to similarly situated employees.
