Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Job Description
Responsible for advancing the university's public image and reputation through routine media engagement and outreach activities, actively engaging with media outlets, securing impactful coverage, and promoting the university's stories, achievements, and expertise.

Position Salary Range
$49,462 - $64,415 per year; DOE

Essential Duties

Design graphics and layouts for presentation slides, social media, banners, direct mail, brochures, environmental graphics, flyers, websites, emails, and other materials as requested by client.

Work fluently in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, and InDesign (working knowledge of commercial printing processes is required).

Develop dynamic visual and content-based posts within popular social media channels; implement and track performance and campaigns (working knowledge of LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram scheduling and execution is required).

Assist with creating, editing, and shaping written content (adhering to writing standards).

Operate graphic design equipment such as computers, cameras, and standard office printing equipment.

Confer with clients, editors, marketing and communications team members, and others regarding project details such as print specifications, graphic content, layout, and media requirements.

Write bid specifications for jobs assigned to external vendors; coordinate production of materials with external vendors by resolving technical problems, proofing material, and ensuring deadlines are met.

Maintain department files of completed assignments; maintain accurate logs of work in progress such as time devoted to project.

May perform location photography, create illustrations, and design and construct visual displays and exhibits.

Ensure timeliness of all information and coordinate content updates with departments, programs, and other units.

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of marketing practices and principles.

Adaptability to use AI tools in future workflows.

Experience writing articles and developing content for various platforms.

Experience in assessment, editing, and summary of written content.

Experience with creating motion graphics.

Experience translating complex and technical subjects/stories for a general audience.

Experience working with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.

Experience in strategic communication planning.

Experience in principles, concepts and practices of project management.

Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Experience in working collaboratively with internal and external committees, faculty, staff, and community members.

Experience in taking and processing photos for online and publication use.

Working Environment
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions. Drives University vehicle and/or cart to campus site.

Driving Requirement
This position may require driving. Employee must possess a valid US Driver's license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.
