Strategic Account ManagerYou know how to clear the way, attend to complex situations, and serve as a trusted liaison. In this role, you will strategize and work collaboratively and cross-functionally to gain and maintain appropriate product access and coverage across national and group purchasing organization (GPO) channels.Responsibilities:Responsible for developing and implementing national and managed care strategies while building long-term, positive, and profitable relationships for the company's productLead direct engagement with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), including but not limited to Vizient, Premier, and their associated regional and IDN subgroupsOwn strategy, negotiation, and ongoing relationship management with GPOs, including contracting, compliance, and performance trackingWork within assigned national accounts and cover all market access channels, including Commercial and Managed Care Payers, Trade Accounts, GPOs, and affiliated IDNsDevelop coverage and reimbursement strategies, securing favorable formulary status and maximizing patient access within hospital and health system settingsConduct financial analysis, develop value-based proposals, secure internal approvals, negotiate terms and conditions, and implement contractual agreementsDevelop and execute national account business plans aligned with company objectives, strategies, and commercial goalsPartner cross-functionally with Sales Representatives, Area Business Directors, Market Access and Medical Affairs to ensure pull-through and executionServe as the primary internal expert on GPO structures, decision-making processes, contracting timelines, and subgroup dynamicsWork within assigned accounts and cover all market access channels, these may include: Commercial and Managed Care Payers, Trade Accounts and Group Purchasing OrganizationsDevelop coverage and reimbursement strategy, securing favorable formulary status and maximizing patient accessConduct financial analysis, develop proposals, secure internal approvals, negotiate terms and conditions, and implement contractual agreements with customers as neededDevelop and execute a business plan that is consistent with company objectives, strategies, and commercial goalsWork cross-functionally with Sales Representatives, Area Sales Directors, Field Reimbursement Managers, Medical, and HUB services, as requiredExperience:BA/BS degree required10+ years of pharmaceutical and/or biotech experience10+ years of direct experience managing large national accounts, including payers, PBMs, and GPOsDemonstrated hands-on experience negotiating and managing contracts with Vizient, Premier, and/or their affiliated regional and IDN subgroupsExperience with hospital-based product launches and hospital contracting strategiesPrevious Cardiology or Hospital Drug experienceExtensive knowledge of government and commercial payer coverage, reimbursement landscapes, and hospital purchasing modelsProven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partnersStrong planning, negotiation, and executive-level communication skillsAbility to clearly present complex information to multiple stakeholder groupsWillingness to travel domestically up to 50%The annual base salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $250,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
